Public Sauna Ceremonies for Small Groups
The Forest Temple Sauna Experience
The Birch Tree Ceremony
The scent from birch leaves brings you back to the light summer's nights of a carefree childhood. Whisks of bundled twigs and leaves work like giant, gentle hands to bring forth a person who is in no hurry. After this sauna experience you are grounded, in connection to your own roots and the wisdom of the trees and the earth. Your body remembers that you belong.

Riverside Sauna Ceremony 22 May
Welcome spring the local way — with a sauna ceremony
Liedon Vanhalinna is a historical place near Turku. Vanhalinna (eng. Old Castle) is located in the Aura river valley, by the Linnavuori hill. The most noticeable landmarks of the Vanhalinna estate are the ancient Linnavuori (eng. Castle Mountain) hill, an Iron Age gravesite, the Aura river valley with its traditional Finnish farm landscape, and the manor house estate and all its buildings. This is also the sauna where President Kekkonen once bathed. Welcome.
The sauna ceremony is a multisensory experience that awakens the senses like a walk through the forest on a beautiful summer's day.
The soft whisks are from local forests. Birch and maple are used to apply a soft phyto-thermo massage and direct the löyly. Pine and juniper are used for scents.
The ritual includes:
Ancient rune songs and spoken spells
Gentle whisking with soft vihtas
Natural scents and locally gathered herbs
A sauna treatment with herbs and salts
The sauna ceremony is open for four persons. The guided sauna ceremony takes 45 minutes and then you have another 45 minutes to enjoy the sauna, take a dip in the river or simply enjoy the view over the river while sipping on a mocktail.
Price: 45€ / person

Day Trip to Seili — the Island of Souls 2 May
Step into the rhythm of the archipelago
Experience Seili with a private guide and a Finnish sauna ceremony by the sea! Spring is a wonderful time in the archipelago — nature is waking up and the season has not yet started. This is a unique opportunity to see the island in the company of a small group.
Seili is known for its history as home to a leper hospital and mental asylum in the 1600s and 1700s. Seili church and the surrounding graveyard still bear witness to the destinies of Seili's patients. Today, Seili is a unique blend of cultural history, stories and nature.
The sauna healer of the archipelago hosts a sauna ceremony for a small group on this island of souls. After a day filled with sea air, delicious food and stories, you get to relax in the wood-burning sauna by the sea. The ceremony includes an abundance of soft whisks and ancient rune songs.
On board M/S Lövskär you can enjoy the beauty of the archipelago while also learning about Finnish sauna traditions and sauna mythology.
The sauna has always been a place of deep connection to life. Generation after generation has come together around hot stones to experience the deep effects of the löyly. The sauna is a place to pause. In the sauna you are in touch with the elements of air, fire, water and earth.
