Welcome to a Guided Finnish Sauna Ritual in Koroinen
Located on the outskirts of Turku, this riverside woodburning sauna is a hidden gem open to small groups. There are no crowds in this historically and culturally unique community hangout, known for its vegan cafe and organic gardening projects. Run by an NGO for 26 years, your visit will not only support sauna culture but also sustainable living and community building.
The sauna ceremony is a multisensory experience that awakens the senses like a walk through the forest on a beautiful summer's day. The ritual starts with a song to greet the "löyly" – the steam released from pouring water on the hot stones. After this, your sauna guide will introduce an abundance of soft whisks from local forests. Bundled twigs of birch and maple are used to apply a soft phyto-thermo massage and direct the löyly. Pine and juniper are used for scents. The atmosphere is grounded, serene, and authentic.
The ritual includes:
• Ancient rune songs and spoken spells
• Gentle whisking with soft "vihtas"
• Natural scents and local herbs
• Soothing waters to cool the body

The sauna ceremony is open to a small group of 4–6 persons. The guided sauna ceremony takes 45 minutes, and then you have another 45 minutes to bathe with the locals, enjoy the river scenery, or simply relax in the lush garden.

Finnish sauna traditions are rooted in a deep connection to nature and the forest. The birch tree has been an important part of sauna wellness for generations.
The scent of birch leaves carries you back to the light summer nights of a carefree childhood. Whisks of bundled twigs and leaves work like giant, gentle hands, drawing forth a person who is in no hurry. After this guided sauna ritual, you will feel grounded and reconnected to your own roots.
The ceremony includes ancient rune songs, gentle whisking with soft birch "vihtas", natural scents and locally gathered herbs. The birch is deeply cleansing, cooling and aids metabolism.
This sauna ritual for a small group of maximum 6 participants is held in a sauna with a panoramic view over the sea at 19-20.
The sauna is warm from 15.00 to 21.00, and from the terrace you can enjoy an atmospheric view over the apple orchard and the bay. The Japandi-inspired surroundings create a calm ambience, perfect for a peaceful and restorative afternoon.

This fee includes: the sauna ceremony, access to the sauna, one local apple juice and one sausage or a vegan option.
